Santa Monica College is located in sunny Southern California. The college rests on a 38-acre campus in this beautiful city by the beach. The college ranks first among 2-year colleges in the United States in transfers to 4-year universities. In addition to associate degrees, the college also offers numerous occupational certificate programs. For those individuals whose talents go beyond what their coursework is offering, the college has put in place the Arts Mentor Program, where professionals will mentor students in the fine and applied arts at a graduate level. SMC has a public radio station KCRW and also houses the John Drescher Planetarium, the SMC Performing Arts Center and the Academy of Entertainment and Technology.Santa Monica College has a variety of sports for students to participate in, 16 of which compete in the Western State Conference. These sports include basketball, cross-country, swimming, track and field, volleyball, football, and tennis.
